Attached are the book reviews students will be expected to use during the first quarter. Each student will need to turn in 4 book reviews in order to receive full credit. Each quarter there is a different genre requirement. This encourages students to read books they normally wouldn't pick up. During the first quarter, students will need to read: 1 non-fiction, 1 historical fiction, and 2 choice books. Choice books are of the student's choice (with only 2 non-fiction books total being turned in for the quarter.)
Each book review is worth 30 points.
Thinkmarks are also due weekly.
All year, students may turn in extra book reviews once the required book reviews are turned in. Extra book reviews will be graded, and the new grade will replace the lowest grade in the gradebook (as long as the new grade is higher.) For example: an extra book review that scored a 29/30 will replace the lowest score in the gradebook (a 26/30.)
